Windows Steam save path
Paste the path into File Explorer’s address bar. Windows may hide AppData in ordinary folder views; entering the full path is usually the quickest way to reach it. Replace {64BitSteamID} with the actual folder name shown on your machine.
Files you may see
- The main save uses a .sav extension.
- A .bac file and additional .sav files in a Backup subfolder are reported in the researched layout.
- Steam Cloud is configured with a quota of 190.73 MiB and up to 1,000 files in the captured configuration; cloud sync status can affect which copy is current.
Before moving or restoring saves
- Close Emberward
Avoid changing files while the game may still be writing progress.
- Copy the whole folder first
Keep an untouched backup before moving, renaming, or restoring any save files.
- Check Steam Cloud
A cloud copy may synchronize over a local change. Make sure you understand which version you want before restarting the game.
- Use the in-game recovery option when possible
The 1.0 notes mention recovering progress from Steam achievements. Prefer the game’s own recovery flow if it applies to your situation.
